It is well to have this inclement weather we have been experiencing t the road right of way is in process and two. The mowing of vacant lots for been completed except for one lot where cants nesting in the field hatched their A pump and nozzle attachment has been added to the tanker truck so that it may be used for flushing streets. FLOOD DAMAGE The flood damage resulting from the June 23rd and 24th rains was very small in relation to other municipalities. There is a minor washout on Simsbury Drive at the corner of Winthrop and Warwick Roads. The sidewalk was undermined. The culvert under North Sunset Drive near Remington Road was badly eroded. This will be the major cost of the flood damage work. A new culvert should be installed. It will be similar to the installation that was necessary on Cayuga Heights Road near the City line. At the Sewage Treatment Plant a catch basin of New York State Route 13 overflowed, eroded a bank, took out some plantings and washed mud into our sedimentation tanks. On July 7th the Engineer attended a meeting on Federal Disaster Assistance Program for this area of New York State. The damages to the • Village were submitted for inspection by a federal engineer for possible total or partial reimbursement of repair costs. The Village must name an authorized representative to represent the Village in all negotiations for Federal reimbursement for flood damage. A letter to the County Civil Defense Office stating the name of this person should be sent as soon as possible. NEW PACKER Bids have been requested for a truck chassis for the new packer.. An alternate for a diesel engine was included in this specification. Bids will be available for the Trustee's meeting. Extensive damage caused by wear and tear on the packing blade of the Village packer we wish to keep as a spare has required dismantling and extensive welding by an outside contractor. It is hoped that this packer will be back in operation before the end of the week. In the meantime, the supplier of our new packer has let us use one of their demonstration models. SEWER PLANT Completed plans for the new plant have been submitted by our engineers, Teetor - Dobbins. An engineer from Teetor - Dobbins has discussed these plans with the Mayor, the Village Engineer and Chief Sewer Plant Operator. A copy of the plans were sent to the County Planning Office, Mr. Frank Liguori's attention. A copy of the plans are available for the Trustee's inspection at the Village Office. Septic tank sludge, according to our Engineer Teetor - Dobbins, can be handled by the plant without any additional construction and with no detriment to our treatment of the regular sewage. It is the recommendation of the County Sewer Agency that the • ownership of the Village Plant remain in the hands of the Village until the construction is completed. Although the majority of the construction could be completed in 1973 completion of all details and award of final payment to the contractor will probably take an additional year. Teetor - Dobbins is aware of this plan and agrees that it would be far superior than changing ownership of the plant Engineer's Report Page 2 • during the construction phase. Teetor- Dobbins is prepared under their contract with the Village to carry out all phases of the inspection necessary to insure that the contractor meets the plans and specifications as drain by Teetor - Dobbins. Site preparation work under Phase I has been completed. SEWER LINES Low pressure air sewer line testor has been put out to bid. Bids are expected to be available at the Trustee's meeting. J. B.
