CAYUGA HEIGHTS FIRE DEPARTMENT
REPORT FOR MAY 1972
The department responded to seven alarms of fire and seven requests for assistance
during the month. Fire loss was less than $50 since all but one alarm was for
brush and grass fires.
Inspections made were:
5/3/72 Acacia Fraternity Final inspection of alterations
Sam Lewis has moved into the bunkroom and requests that an extension of the fire
department business phone be installed in the bunkroom. This phone can than be
answered on an almost 24 hour a day basis and can also serve as a phone for the
bunkroom. Sam is willing to pay the installation charges of $40.00 in return for
the priviledge of making personal local calls on the phone. The monthly charges
will be $2.46 or $29.52 annually. The Fire Chief requests and recommends approval
of this. Sam understands that no long distance calls can be made and feels that
he can give night coverage of the phone which is not now possible since all the
existing extensions are either in the company room or office and cannot be heard
in the bunkroom at night. The previous bunkers did not want to be bothered with
calls on this phone and refused to have one installed at the time of our service
changeover last summer.
