A motor paver was secured and Triphammer Road, lower Devon Road, Highgate Place and a section of Hanshaw Road in front of the commercial area were given a one to two inch thick levelling coat which was then stoned and rolled. Handling the traffic on the Hanshaw Road section near the commercial area was a major problem and to partially solve this the Public Works Foreman and his crew started the paving job at 4:00 o'clock in the morning. New specifications for a 22 cubic yard hopper and 20 cubic yard body were sent out to bid. Bids will be available for the Trustee's meeting. WATER After the special meeting of the Board at the end of last month the Engineer notified Teetor- Dobbins Consulting Engineers that the Village was interested in having them look at the proposed intermunicipal water system to evaluate the interests of the Village. A partner of Teetor- Dobbins wishes to meet with the Mayor and any Trustees who wish to join them on Thursday, June 15 at 4 :00 o'clock. This meeting would be to lay out the scope of the work we wish them to do. SE6iAGE PLANT The Teamsters Union strike has been settled and work has again resumed on the grading contract for the sewer plant additions and alterations. The alterations to the digester that were necessary for proper sludge pumping have been completed and the plant is again operating properly. SEWER LINES The Town of Ithaca has a contractor working on infiltration leaks in the north- east section of the Town. The Engineer has met with the Lansing representative on sewer lines and with Mr. Talandis of the Lansing West Apartments to correct some infiltration leaks discovered. Letters have been written for a quotation on the sewer line air testing device but we have been unable to secure a price quotation. J. B. Rogers Village Engineer •
