VILLAGE OF CAYUGA HEIGHTS
REPORT OF FIRE DEPARTMENT
September 1971
The department responded to 9 alarms of fire and 4 assists in September. Fire
loss is estimated at $150.
The building program nears completion with only painting, replacement of drain
grates, and final installation of the heater -air conditioners in the office to
be completed by the contractor.
It is recommended that all but 106 of the sprinkler contract be paid to the
Davis -Ulmer Co. The balance to be paid when the lk inch tap is installed in the
supply as called for by specifications.
The landscaping and paving as done by the Village Work Force under the direction
of Trustee Fogg and Engineer Rogers has brought this part of the project to the
point where it can be completed as time, weather and money permits. (At the
time this report is written I'm happy to report that there appears to be a
vigorous growth of grass under the blanket of straw.)
Attached to this report please find a statement of expenditures from the building
fund to 9/21/71.
All three engines successfully passed the annual pump test as required by the
rating bureau. There were of course a few mechanical problems encountered
during this one hour test at full capacity but all were of minor nature and
have since been repaired.
