VILLAGE OF CAYUGA HEIGHTS
REPORT OF THE ENGINEER
NOVEMBER 1971
I. STREETS
During the past two weeks a sealing coat has been applied to the road surfaces
which have been repaved by the motor paver earlier this year. The painting
of traffic lines on the streets has been completed.
II. SNOW REMOVAL
A good supply of salt has been trucked in and is stored in our newly roofed
salt storage bin. Plows have been made ready for the first snow removal work.
Public works supervisor Bob Tyrrell is looking for a small plow for our four -
wheeled drive truck. This truck will primarily be used at the Village Sewage
Treatment Plant where snow removal in the past by our larger truck and larger
plow has been very hard on our equipment. It can also be used on intersections,
parking lots, both at the Village Hall and at the Fire House.
III. LEAF REMOVAL
With two blowers operating the leaf removal has progressed much faster this
year. Also, because the leaves are stored near the Village Barn the travel
time for disposal of a truck full of leaves has been decreased. This also
• has increased the efficiency on the leaf removal job.
IV. SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT
The Board's request for a general description of the expanded Village Treatment
Plant was passed on to our engineers Teetor - Dobbins. Their description was
forwarded to the Trustees with the October 28th Agenda. Additional copies
are on file with the Village Clerk if they are needed.
V. FIRE STATION
Planting has been completed at the Fire Hall except for a row of bushes along
the back property line which have been on order from our supplier but have not
as yet been delivered. The motor paver driveway surface was treated with a
sealer coat with light stone both in front and in back of the new garage.
