Subject: Activities of the Police Department for May 1971
Gentlemen:
The Department handled 62 complaints and investigated 5 motor vehicle
accidents. There were 120 traffic tickets and 42 parking tickets issued during
the month.
Some of the cases investigated during the month concerned 15 misdemeanor
cases (petit larceny, criminal mischief, criminal trespass and aggravated
• harassment), 5 violations (harassment and disorderly conduct) and 9 Village
Ordinances (solicitors and zoning).
The part -time officers worked a total of 120 hours and the regular officers
overtime for the month totaled 50 hours.
Although our Department did not have officers attending the recent Basic
State Recruit School held in Ithaca., we did supply instructors for 53 hours of
the 280 hours of required training time for new recruits. The instructors for
our Department were Sgt. H. R. MCRwen and Ptlm. F. L. Darling.
