REPORT OF THE ZONING OFFICER
JANUARY 1971
During the past month one zoning permit was issued for additions to
existing structures for a total amount of estimated value of $10,000.
The Zoning Board of Appeals received a letter from Mr. Edwin Thompson
of Patten's Jewelers, 188 Pleasant Grove Road, requesting that the Board's
denial of his appeal of a variance be considered on the basis that the
Village Zoning Ordinance, Section 6, states that a residence designed to
house not more than two families in any district need not have yards greater
than those required in the Residence District.
It is the Zoning Officer's opinion that because the structure will
house Patten's Jewelers as well as two families, the above mentioned
quotation from the Village Ordinance does not apply.
