VILLAGE OF CAYUGA HEIGHTS
MINUTES of a Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees held May 29, 1970 at 4 :00 P.M.
PRESENT: Mayor F. G. Marcham; Trustees Ronald E. Anderson, Harold R. Fisher,
Rene F. Randolph; Treasurer Gordon B. Wheeler; Attorney Roger B. Sovocool.
ABSENT: Trustees Verne A. Fogg, Margaret McElwee, Carl H. Nelson.
VOTED to approve the Abstract of Audited Vouchers dated May 29, 1970 in the
following amounts: General Fund - $2,494.66, Sewer Fund - $2,027.45.

RESOLUTION # 1682 - ADOPT LIST OF CIVIL SERVICE POSITIONS
VOTED to adopt the list of acknowledged positions agreed to in conference with the
Civil Service Commissioner, on May 25, 1970 and recorded in a statement submitted
by the Village Clerk, Mrs. Rose Tierney.
RESOLUTION # 1683 - CREATE CIVIL SERVICE POSITIONS
VOTED to abolish the Civil Service positions of stenographer and assessor and to
create the following new positions effective immediately:
One part time typist in a non - competitive position
Five laborers
Four Police Patrolmen - part time
These new positions to be added to the present list of acknowledged positions on
file.
RESOLUTION # 1684 - PUBLIC HEARING
VOTED to hold a Public Hearing at 7:30 P.M. on June 15, 1970 to consider amendments
to the Village Ordinances to further define the penalties to be applied against
persons who violate Village Ordinances.
RESOLUTION # 1685 - AUTHORIZE PURCHASES
VOTED to authorize the purchase of a new desk for the Village Clerk as well as a
drafting table, stool and light for the Engineer.
The Board suggested that the Mayor inquire regarding the purchase of ten chairs for
use by the Board and its officers at Village meetings.
The Mayor reported a statement by Vice President Mackesey regarding the use of
property at 310 Triphammer Road by the Africans Society. The Board advised him to
ask Mr. Mackesey to attend the next meeting of the Board and to present plans
regarding the proposed use of the buildings. The Board also suggested that Mr.
•Mackesey bring with him a responsible member of the Society so that any questons
regarding the ordinances and procedures of the Village may be explained.

The Board suggested that at the same time Mr. Mackesey be asked to bring the latest
plans for the development of the University's playing fields and to explain what
happened to the plans and elevations presented at an earlier meeting.
The Board suggested that Engineer Rogers be asked to bring pressure on Guidi
Construction to finish their work and also to report on Mr. Locke's use of his
home on Triphammer Road.
