To: Hon. Frederick G. Marcham, Mayor
Members of the Board of Trustees
Village of Cayuga Heights
Subject: Activities of the Police Department for December 1969
Gentlemen:
The Department handled 59 ccmplaints and investigated 12 motor vehicle
accidents. There were 24 traffic tickets and 32 parking tickets issued.
A break down of some of the cases investigated during the month are as
follows: 3 felony cases (house burglaries), 8 petit larceny cases, 6 bad check
cases and 4 aggravated harassment cases.
0 The house burglaries continued into this month and have consumed many hours
of investigative time. The part -time officers worked a total of 113 hours
during the month and overtime by the regular officers totaled 181 hours.
On December 8 - 12, Sgt. McEwen attended a Photography School conducted
by the FBI and sponsored by the Ithaca Police Department.
We would like to bring to the Board's attention the need for a radio
communications system between the Village D.P.W. and the other units of Village
Government. The system would save a great deal of time in locating the various
units in regards to emergency situations as well as contact during the daily
operations.
Respectfully submitted,
Jack W. McCraw, Sr.
