subject: Activities of the Police Department for the month of May 1969

TLi.Department handled 57 complaints and investigated 5 motor
vehicle t y!idents during the month, There were 64 traffic arrests
and-74 pa-king tickets issued. Nine persons were arrested on warrants
issued by .sae Village Justice. one person was arrested on a warrant
for the New York State Police and one for the Ithaca Police Department.
The Department handled ten bad check cases and one person was
arrested on a bad check charge. On May 2, a Village resident complained
of a person driving a car on•the-- grass.at Sunset Park. The person
responsible was arrested and was fined $10 by the Village Justice.
On May 14, the Cayuga Heights Police Department participated
in the numerous arrests made in`tAI area concerning dangerous drugs.
A subject was arrested liy this Tep#i ment at the Cornell Residential
Club' bi�:a charge of "Criminally Selling a Dangerous Drug ". This
was the result of a lengthy investigation into dangerous drugs in
the area conducted over several months in which the Cayuga Heights
Police participated along with the N.Y. State Police and the Ithaca
Police Department.
On May 24, a subject was arrested by the Cayuga Heights Police..
for "Giving Name Falsely for Purchase of Exempt Narcotic ". This
arrest was the result of alleged incidents at the Brooks Pharmacy,
Village Green Shopping Center..-
From May 5th thru May 9th, Patrolman Darling attended a fingerprint,
school at the Broome County Lax Enforcement Academy conducted by the
Federal Bureau of Investigation.
