VILLAGE OF CAYUGA HEIGHTS
• MINUTES of a Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees held at 4:00 P.M. August 18,
1969 at the Village Hall, 194 Pleasant Grove Road.
PRESENT: Mayor F. G. Marcham; Trustees Ronald E. Anderson, Harold R. Fisher,
Verne A. Fogg, Margaret McElwee, Carl H. Nelson, Rene F. Randolph; Treasurer
Gordon B. Wheeler; Attorney Roger B. Sovocool; Engineer John B. Rogers.
OTHERS PRESENT: Sgt. McEwen and Mr. Walsh of The Ithaca Journal.
VOTED to approve Abstract of Audited Voucher dated August 18, 1969 as follows:
General Fund - $15098.10 . Sewer Fund - $756.53

RESOLUTION # 1528 - ATTENDANCE - ANNUAL TRAINING SCHOOL
VOTED to authorize attendance to the Annual Training School for Fiscal Officers
• and Clerk at Lake Placid, New York between October 7 - 11, 1969.
RESOLUTION # 1529 - PHOSPHATE REMOVAL
VOTED to authorize the alteration of the plans for reconstruction of the Village
Sewer Plant so as to provide for phosphate removal.

RESOLUTION # 1530 - OVERTIME APPROVED
VOTED to approve overtime as follows: Cornelius - $5.85; Garvin - $4.33;
Marshall - $14.40; Oltz - $4.35; Truax - $4.83, Grover - $12.28.
Bids for the Alterations and Renovations of the new VILLAGE HALL were opened at

RESOLUTION # 1531 - AWARD BID
VOTED resolved to award the contract for alterations and renovations,of the new
Village Hall at 836 Hanshaw Road to M. W. Guidi Construction, 1458 Slaterville
Road, for a base bid of $15,073.00 plus Alternate #1 - $1,000, Alternate #3 -
•$573.00, Alternate #5 - $794.00 and Alternate #6 - $958.00. Total $18,398.00
to be completed in 35 working days after the signing of the contract.
RESOLUTION # 1532 - EXTRA CHARGES
VOTED resolved to authorize the Engineer and Mayor to allow charges for additions
or alterations over and above the work provided for in the contract with M. W. Guidi
Construction. These extra charges not to exceed in total $1,500.

RESOLUTION # 1533 - PURCHASE STAMPS
VOTED to formalize the purchase of 2,000 six cent stamps for the mailing of phone
otichers and information leaflets In the amount of *720.00.
RESOLUTION # 1534 - PURCHASE STAMPED ENVELOPES
VOTED to authorize the purchase of 1500 government printed 6¢ stamped envelopes
for $IA8.20.
A discussion of the need to acquire property adjacent to the sewer plant led to the
advice that the first step for the Village would be to have appraisal made of land
:ttimedi.ately to the south and to the north of the plant. The Board advised the Mayor
Attorney and Engineer to negotiate with the National Farm Consulting Service for
1-here appraisals.
