MINUTES of a Special Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga
Heights held April 11, 1969 in the Village Office, 194 Pleasant Grove Road, Ithaca,
• New York at 4:00 P.M.
PRESENT: Mayor F. G. Marcham; Trustees Ronald E. Anderson, Harold R. Fisher,
Verne A. Fogg and Carl H. Nelson; Attorney Roger B. Sovocool; Treasurer Gordon B.
Wheeler; Engineer John B. Rogers,
ABSENT: Trustees Margaret McElwee and Rene F. Randolph.
At a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights, State of
New York, held at 194 Pleasant Grove Road, Ithaca, New York on April 11, 1969,
Trustee Carl H. Nelson offered the following resolution:
RESOLUTION #1454 - PROVIDING A 160th PENSION BENEFIT UNDER
A NON - CONTRIBUTORY PLAN
BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights does
hereby elect to come under the provisions of Chapter 1006 of the Laws of 1966,
as presently or hereafter amended, and entitled "An act to amend the Retirement,
and Social Security Law, in relation to establishing non - contributory retirement
plans and ordinary death benefits for state employees and members of participating
employers "; and "BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the members' contributions in the
employ of the above shall be suspended and that the effective date of such
suspension shall be the payroll period beginning on the 19th day of April 1969."

At a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights State of
New York, held at 194 Pleasant Grove Road, Ithaca, New York, on April 11, 1969,
Trustee Ronald E. Anderson offered the following resolution:
RESOLUTION #1455 - PROVIDING AN ADDITIONAL PENSION BENEFIT
UNDER SECTION 75 e
BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights does
hereby elect to provide the additional pension benefits of Section 75 -e, as
presently or hereafter amended, and entitled "guaranteed retirement benefits for
employees of participating employers "; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that this election shall become effective with the payroll
period beginning on 19th day of April 1969.
At a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights State of
New York, held at the Village Hall, Ithaca, New York on April 11, 1969,
Trustee Verne A. Fogg offered the following resolution:
RESOLUTION #1456 - PROVIDING A 160th PENSION BENEFIT UNDER
A NON - CONTRIBUTORY PLAN
• BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights does
hereby elect to come under the provisions of Section 375 -b of Article 8 of the
Retirement and Social Security Law establishing a non - contributory retirement plan
and ordinary death benefits for members, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that the
members' contributions in the employ of the above be suspended and that the
effective date of such suspension shall be the payroll period beginning on the
19th day of April, 1969.

At a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights State of
New York, held at 194 Pleasant Grove Road, Ithaca, New York, on April 11, 1969
• Trustee Carl H. Nelson offered the following resolution:
RESOLUTION #1457 - PROVIDING THE BENEFITS OF SUBDIVISION g
OF SECTION 384 FOR EMPLOYEES COVERED BY
SUCH SECTION
BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights does
hereby elect to pay the additional cost on account of any member of its Police
and Fire Departments who duly elect to receive the additional benefit after
twenty -five years of creditable service provided for under the provisions of
Section 384 Subdivision f of the Retirement and Social Security Law or any sub-
sequent amendments thereto.
At a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights State of
New York, held at Ithaca New York, on April 11, 19692 Trustee Ronald E. Anderson
offered the following resolution:
RESOLUTION #1458 - TO PROVIDE A TWENTY -FIVE YEAR RETIREMENT PLAN
BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Cayuga Heights does
hereby elect to pay on account of any member of its Police and Fire Department
who has duly elected, or shall hereafter duly elect, to contribute the additional
amount required for the purpose of retiring after twenty -five years of service
as provided by Section 384 of the Retirement and Social Security Law or any
subsequent amendments thereto, the entire additional cost on account of the
police or fire service rendered by such officer or member of the Police and Fire
Department prior to the date of the adoption of this resolution, and further
agrees to pay one -half of the additional cost on account of police and fire
service rendered by such officer or member of the Police and Fire Department on
and after April 19, 1969.
The Board authorized the following actions with the understanding that formal
resolutions on these matters would be offered and passed at the next meeting of
the Board of Trustees:
RESOLUTION #1459 - BIDS FOR USED GRADER
VOTED pursuant to Resolution #1430, to authorize the Clerk to advertise for bids
on a used grader.
RESOLUTION #1460 - PURCHASES - FIRE DEPARTMENT
VOTED to authorize the purchase of 25 blue lights and necessary brackets for use
by the fire department at a cost not to exceed $275.
