4 -21 -69 Investigate charcoal grill fire in rear of Carriage House Apts.
4 -22 -69 Assist Cayuga Heights Police Department during campus disorders
It should be noted that volunteers of the Fire Company manned the apparatus
on a stand -by basis during the most serious of the recent campus disorders. Over
73 man -hours were spent by the volunteers during this period.
The ramp in front of the fire station garage has sunk in spots as much as
two inches during the winter. As a result, a small pond is formed during rain
storms or whenever the equipment is washed. It is recommended that the ramp be
repaired to allow proper drainage of water.
The apparatus room floor has received its annual coat of paint and appears
to be in good repair.
At the April meeting of the Fire Council, it was recommended that the purchase
of the emergency utility vehicle be effected as soon as possible. This vehicle
will replace the two -door sedan now in use. This present vehicle is in need of
repairs which have been estimated at $200.00.
The vehicle to be purchased is a 3/4 ton, four -wheel drive cab - chassis with
a special utility box mounted on the chassis in place of a pick -up box. This
vehicle will provide the Fire Department with adequate room for the emergency
equipment now carried in the sedan. The utility box is estimated to last for
10 -15 years and can be remounted on another vehicle should the cab- chaesis need
• replacing.
It will not be necessary to advertise for bids for the cab- ebassis as it is
available on state contract, The following is a breakdown on the cost of the
vehicle and accessories.
