HomeMy WebLinkAboutLauren Putnam, letter for Lieutenant and Warden positions: March 14, 2004Lauren Putnam, letter for Lieutenant and Warden positions: March 14, 2004 After graduating from Cornell in May, I have since started working at a pharmaceutical company located next to the Pyramid mall. I am also a bunker at the station currently, and plan to live at this residence for at least another year. Additionally I plan to be living in Ithaca for the next two years, and would like to stay in the area for years to come. I have been a member of the department since July of 1999, and have maintained my status as an active firefighter for this time. I have been an interior firefighter for many years, and have attended classes required by the department as well as classes I feel make me a more valuable firefighter. Dedication, leadership and teaching ability are vital qualities to have in any officer. I try to demonstrate these qualities through my everyday activities at the station and on a fire scene. But I don't think a person can adequately self - evaluate their personal strengths in these areas. I therefore leave to the membership the assessment of my qualifications for the position of Lieutenant. I am a firm believer that open communication between the department and the company is necessary to make things run smoothly. A Warden's duty is to be the Company's representative to Fire Council and as Warden, I intend to keep these channels open. I am receptive to input from the membership and openly welcome any type of conversation regarding company and department policies. My vote on Fire Council will represent the wishes of the membership and will be made with as little personal bias as possible. Thank you for your time and consideration, Lauren Putnam Attached is a list of the courses I have taken.
