There were a total of-132 traffic tickets issued and 33 parking tickets written. During January there was one felony complaint, a Bank Robbery. At approximately 10:45am, a lone male subject dressed in black and wearing a ski mask, entered the Fleet Bank with an automatic weapon and demanded the tellers put money into a bag. Less than a minute later; the subject left the bank with the money in an unknown direction. The case is still under investigation. There were three misdemeanors reported: two for Issuing Bad Checks and one for Aggravated Harassment. One of the bad check cases was closed with the restitution received in full. The other bad check case is still pending. The aggravated harassment case was the report of numerous no answer calls. The complainant was advised to keep track of anymore calls and to notify this department if any more are received. During January there were no Violation complaints. There was one Village Ordinance complaint concerning a dog running loose and chasing a vehicle. The owner of the dog was contacted and advised of the dog ordinance. There were three Vehicle and Traffic complaints which involved parking problems. There were eighty-three miscellaneous complaints handled by this department for the month of January. An officer responded to a residence for a reported vehicle fire. After an investigation, it was found that the owner of the vehicle had deliberately set his vehicle on fire. At this time, an arrest is pending. Officer Wright, Officer Cain and Sgt. Boyce attended a one day training at Ithaca College on Methamphetamine Labs. The training was to familiarize themselves with these labs for officer safety. The Dare graduations at Cayuga Heights School and Northeast School were both postponed until February due to the inclement weather and due to the extra hours needed to be spent on the robbery investigation. The full time officers worked 109 hours of overtime and the part-time officers worked 206 hours.
