Report of the Clerk
The second meeting of Village Hall Space Committee (Brent Cross, Ken Lansing, Jeff Silber,
George Tamborelle and Norma Manning, Chair) met on Tuesday, February 10. The
purpose of this meeting was to identify the needs and wants of each department as it
pertained to each department's "space" utilization in the Village Hall.
There are significant inefficiencies and deficiencies in this former residence which serves as
the Village Hall. A few of the deficiencies include emergency power, climate control, lack of
fire sprinklers, handicap accessible wash rooms, etc. A few of the inefficiencies include lack
of garage space for the police cars, multiple break rooms, central copy room, etc.
After considerable discussion regarding the need for a feasibility study, the Committee is not
of one mind about this matter, and is asking the Trustees to consider whether retaining a
consultant to conduct a study of space usage and recommendations to remedy the associated
problems of the Village Hall is needed.
Whether or not the Trustees conclude that hiring a consultant is necessary, the Committee
requests that the necessary planning should proceed to a point where it would be prepared
to offer the Trustees specific recommendations for space modifications and improvements
byFebruazy2005 in time for the 2005 -2006 budget cycle.
