HomeMy WebLinkAboutReport of the Fire Department for Sept 2002CAYUGA HEIGHTS FIRE DEPARTMENT 194 Pleasant Grove Road Ithaca, NY 14850 (607) 257 -2377 Honorable Walter Lynn, Mayor Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights Monthly Report- September, 2002 During the Month of September, the Cayuga Heights Fire Department responded to twenty medical emergencies and twenty -two fire related calls. Of the calls, fifteen were in the Town of Ithaca and twenty were in the Village. The fire department also provided mutual aid assistance seven times during the month. The Cayuga Heights Fire Department received no mutual aid assistance. The fire department responded to seven mutual aid calls, all calls were to the City of Ithaca. You may notice a difference to this months report. We are now using the new version of our fire reporting software. Please bare with me as we work out the bugs. Bangs ambulance personnel transported the patient to Cayuga Medical Center. 002 -000299 -00 09106/2002 21:03 I Cooking fire, mnfined to 13 Cayuga Heights Fire Department personnel responded to a call reporting a hazardous condition at the above location. Personnel found that the two in the oven was out on arrival. Personnel investiged, checked the stove, and ventilated the residence with a fan 002 -000300 -00 09/06/2002 23:02 E ' -- ' "- ' -- - "" Smoke detector activation, no 13 Cayuga Heights Fire Department personnel responded to a fie alarm activation at the above location. Personal arrived and found #418, Knox, on the scene. Burnt popcorn in the common lounge of unit one had been removed Personnel investigated #418 stated the detector head would be removed and cleaned even though reset was achieved 002. 000301 -00 09/07/2002 18:40' - - ' EMS call, excluding vehicle 8 [Sce PCR94- 80413791 Cayuga Heights Fire Department "met responded to an emergency medical call at the above location, for a report of an unresponsive female. CPR was initiated and care was turned over to Bangs ambulance personnel. Cayuga Medical Center contacted, by Bangs, for advise. CHPD personnel were on the _scene. 002 -000302 -00 09107/2002 23:33 EMS call, excluding vehicle 8 (See PCR#4- 80413801 Cayuga Heights FWEMS personnel responded to an emergency medical call at the above location for a report of an elderly female complaining of dizziness. Personnel arrived at the scene and initiated history, assessment, and care. All patient care was transferred to Bangs ambulance who transported the patient to Cayuga Medical Center. 002 -000303 -00 09/09/2002 15:42 Good intent call, other 20 Cayuga Heights Fire Department personnel responded to a call at the above location, for a reported explosion and scream Personnel arrived at the scene, investigated, found construction work at the above location A large rock had dropped Fran the fireplace construction and the worker had yelled in surprise. 7hare were no injuries, no hazards, and no explosion 002 -000304-00 09109x7002 17:11 "- Medical assist, assist EMS crew 13 [Sm PCR#4. 80413811 Cayuga Heights Fire/EMS personnel responded to an emergency medical call at the above location for a report of a fractured leg, Personnel arrived at the scene and found patient care in progress. Personnel arrived at the sane and found a conscious filly -nine year old tomato lying on the aide of the roadway complaining of left knee pain. The system was reset. Personnel arrived at the scene, investigated, found a malfunctioning alarm system and no problems.
