Honorable Ronald Anderson, Mayor
Board of Trustees
Village of Cayuga Heights
Monthly Report - January, 2002
During the Month of January, the Cayuga Heights Fire Department responded to thirty -
three medical emergencies and nineteen fire related calls. Of the calls, twenty were in the
Town of Ithaca and twenty -nine were in the Village. The fire department also provided
mutual aid assistance three times during the month. The Cayuga Heights Fire Department
received no mutual aid assistance.
The fire department responded to one refuse fire. It was a bonfire at a fraternity and was
quickly extinguished. The matter was turned over to the Cayuga Heights Police
Department.
Engine 203 is now in service, replacing the old engine. The old engine is now 204 and is
temporally out of service while equipment is being repaired or replaced.
With the new engine I would like board authorization to purchase five new SCBA
airpacks. This is money received from an anonymous donor and another fund Mr. Silber
bought to my attention.
I would also like the boards' authorization to purchase eight sets of turnout gear.
P y
Je Randall
Fire Chief
