Anderson Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights From: Report of the Police Department for December 2001 For the month of December there were a total of 115 complaints reported to the police department and 6 motor vehicle accidents. There were a total of 77 traffic tickets issued and 27 parking tickets written. During December there was one felony complaint concerning a possible burglary which was discovered to be unfounded. There were twenty-three misdemeanor complaints reported to this department: three for Issuing a Bad Check, eight for Petit Larceny, four for Criminal Mischief, one for Aggravated Harassment, three for Possession of Stolen Property, three for Theft of Services and one for Possession of a Forged Instrument. One larceny was the theft of a mailbox and its post. ' There were two complaints of thefts of Christmas wreathes and one report of outside Christmas lights taken. There were four reports of village street signs stolen. The three cases of Possession of Stolen Property involved the recovery of numerous street signs and a variety of other signs belonging to the Village of Cayuga Heights, Cornell University, City of Ithaca and some signs from locations out of state. The recovery of signs belonging to Cayuga Heights enabled the department to close a few of our previous years Petit Larceny cases. All three cases dealing with the stolen property are still under investigation. There were three Theft of Service complaints reported with two of them closed and one still under investigation. The complaint of Possession of a Forged Instrument involved an altered driver's license which resulted in the arrest of a 20 year old male. The Aggravated Harassment was reported when a resident received telephone calls in which a subject mumbled or simply hung up. Two of the Criminal Mischief complaints reported were damage done to signs - one a sign for an apartment building and the other a sign for a fraternity. The other two Criminal Mischief complaints dealt with ruts in the park lawn and residential lawns from unknown vehicles. There were two complaints of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, a violation, which resulted in the arrest of 3 subjects. Two of the subjects were also arrested for being In the Park After Hours, a village ordinance. There were three Vehicle and Traffic complaints: one a parking problem, one a miscellaneous traffic infraction and one for Driving While Intoxicated in which a 40 year old female was arrested. There were eighty-five miscellaneous complaints handled by this department for the month of December. Also during December a subject was observed sleeping in the cemetery and identified to have an outstanding warrant issued by the Tompkins County Family Court. The subject was taken into custody. During the month of December the full time officers worked 116.5 hours of overtime and the part-time officers worked 124.5 hours.
