Honorable Ronald Anderson, Mayor
Board of Trustees
Village of Cayuga Heights
Monthly Report- September, 2001
During the Month of September, the Cayuga Heights Fire Department responded twenty -
one medical emergencies and thirty -four fire related calls. Of the calls, twenty -one were
in the Town of Ithaca and twenty -six were in the Village. The fire department also
provided mutual aid assistance eight times during the month. The Cayuga Heights Fire
Department received no mutual aid assistance.
On September 280' and 29th, the fire department conducted sixteen hours of intense
training for eighteen new members. The training was taught by our own members and
included segments on hose lays, ladder operations, self - contained breathing apparatus,
policy and procedures, safety awareness, tools, and CPR.
A draft of the "Station Use Policy" was presented to the Village Attorney for his review.
The Village Attorney will be bringing this issue before the full board for review and
approval.
I would like approval from the Village Board to sell the old Chevrolet that we recently
replaced with the used police vehicle. The vehicle isn't worth much since it has
transmission problems, bad power steering unit and a bad computer chip. I believe we
should take what we can get for this vehicle.
