HomeMy WebLinkAboutReport of the Superintendent of Public Works 4/2/1990REPORT OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF PUBLIC WORKS APRIL 2, 1990 STREAM MAINTENANCE The County has requested applications for 1990 Preventive Maintenance matching funds. As there is no evident stream problem in the Village at this time, no application will be made. STREETS The current budget 1989 -90 calls for grading and shoulder work to be done on Cayuga Heights Road from West Upland Road to the north Village line. This will mean that extensive trimming, grading, removal of some retaining walls and trees that are in the road right -of -way but considered by abutting property owners to be theirs, will have to be done. There will be at least as much dis- ruption and voiced opinions and complaints as was received from the construction of the Hanshaw Road sidewalk. The road right -of -way line will be staked out and abutting property owhers will be notified before work starts. Does the Board wish to have a publie hearing or any other notification before the project begins? SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT March operation reports are not yet available. The new discharge meter is in place, has been calibrated, and indicated a Village of Lansing flow through the railroad trunk line of 480,000 gallons per day at a time when the total flow through the plant was 1.8 MGD. SEWER LINES Sewer line flows at twelve different points in the Village are being checked for wet and dry weather flows to determine areas where there might be infiltra- tion of storm or ground water. Sewer lines and manholes in open land areas and near streams were inspected for possible entry of storm water. REFUSE COLLECTION The Village office continues to get calls on Village policy.
