Mayor Anderson called the Public Hearing to order and commented that he had received
13 letters about Remington Road and also that the Public Hearing would be only 15
minutes. Mr.'Thorbecke said that he had handed Mayor Anderson a letter with 40
signatures. He ha contracted Roger Beck, a contractor, about the cost of building
Remington Road. An official of Beck Construction Corp. considered the T.G. Miller
estimate of ca $55,00 per foot to be very low, and they would not bid except at a
much higher price. Mr. Thorbecke urged environmental consideration and was sure that
there was a conflict of interest concerning Jack Rogers. He would like to see the
Village purchase the properties in question at fair price and maintain property as
wild. MrMa ness of 112 N. Sunset Drive thinks we should purchase Shepherd's
property, and ado thinks there is a conflict of interest concerning Jack Rogers.
Pat Mutkoski agreed with all the above comments and would like to see the road dead
en aat the Shepherd's lot. She considers Jack's lots a conflict of interest.
' Kenneth Myer wanted to know what the circumstances were when Jack purchased the
property! He thinks this problem should be resolved quickly. Claire Berman said
that she had met with all the lot owners and had discussed the problem. Laura
Holmberg read a letter dated February 16, 1990 that the Mayor has a copy of. The
