There were twenty misdemeanor complaints, eight for petit larceny, four for criminal mischief, two for bad checks, two for criminal trespass, two for aggravated harassment, one for an attempt to commit a crime and one for unlawfully dealing with a child. There were seventy -five miscellaneous complaints investigated by the Police Department: Those arrested during the month included one arrest for criminal trespass, one arrest for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of-an accident, one arrest for unlawfully dealing with a child and one arrest for the local law for violation of the Dog Control Law. I attended the two day Executive Development Seminar in Binghamton sponsored by the Bureau for Municipal Police-. Sgt. Lansing completed his training with the Office of Crime Prevention on presentations to school aged children. All Officers have now qualified with the new 9mm weapons and they have been placed into service. -Special training was supplied by the FBI director of training from Albany and the local FBI office. They performed the classroom instruction for this transition period. I am also happy to report that this was the quietest halloween I can ever remember in the•Village. There was a total of $1,551.80 in property reported lost or stolen during the month and $884.80 was recovered by the Police Department. The full time officers worked 75 hours overtime during the month and the part -time officers worked 162 hours. These figures are high but are due to mandated firearms training, halloween patrol and the special details which were put into place for the burglary investigations.
