SUBJECT: Report of the Police Department for May 1989
The Police Department handled 88 complaints and investigated 8
motor vehicle accidents during the month. There were 95 traffic
tickets issued and 19 parking tickets issued during the month. .
There was one felony complaint for burglary. There were twenty-
five misdemeanor complaints, six for petit larceny, six for
criminal mischief, five for criminal trespass, four for bad checks,
two for aggravated harassment, one for unlawfully dealing with a
child and one for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. There were
sixty -two miscellaneous complaints investigated by the Police
Department.
These figures represent a 73 decrease in traffic, 793 decrease
in parking tickets, 203 increase in complaints and 503 increase
in motor vehicle accidents from last month.
Five people were arrested for driving while intoxicated. Their
ages are 17, 21, 21, 22 and 52. A 23 and 20 year old male were
arrested for trespass. A 19 year old female was arrested for
trespass and criminal impersonation. A 17 year old male was
charged for consuming alcohol in Sunset Park. A 19 year old
male was arrested'for unlawful possession of marihuana. A 21
year old female was arrested for unlawfully dealing with a child.
A 23 year old female was arrested for driving on the lawn in
Sunset Park. One person was arrested on a Village Court Warrant
for failure to appear in court for traffic infractions.
There was a total of $o4e,072.00 in property reported lost or
stolen during the month and $370.00 was recovered by the Police
Department.
The full time officers worked 74 hours overtime during the month
and the part -time officers worked 94 hours. The part -time hours
include the starting of the training process of the three new
part -time officers. They should all be ready to be on their own
by mid -June.
