SUBJECT: Report of the Police Department for June 1984
The Police Department handled 82 complaints and investigated 7
motor vehicle accidents during the month. There were 106 traffic
tickets issued and 14 parking tickets issued during the.hlonth.
There were no felony complaints and there were twenty misdemeanor
complaints, eight for bad check, five for.criminal mischief, two
for petit larceny, two for criminal trespass, two for aggravated
harassment and one for illegal possession of fireworks. There were
sixty -two miscellaneous complaints investigated by the Police Depart-
ment.
The above figures represent a 128 increase in traffic tickets, 278
decrease in parking tickets, 7% decrease -in complaint reports and
a 138 decreaE:,R in .accident reports from the previous month...'
The following arrests were made during the month: four arrests for
driving while intoxicated, seven arrests for trespass, one.arrest
for disorderly conduct,, one arrest.for driving on the lawn in Sunset
Park, four arrests for illegal possession of fireworks, consuming
alcohol in Sunset Park and being in the park after hours, and one
arrest on a Bench Warrant for failure to appear in Village Court on
a traffic violation. One juvenile was apprehended for making obscene
and threatening telephone calls.'
The new 1989 Chevrolet Police car has arrived and should.be in full
service by the end of the week. We will'leave the 1987 LTD marked
with the use of a Fire Dept. light bar until, after the Empire State
Games. This will give us two marked and one uhmarked.car for traffic
control during the games.
There was a total of $395.66 in property reported lost or stolen
during the month and $500.45 was recovered by the Police Department:
In addition we recovered one stolen motor vehicle which was reported
stolen out of the City of Ithaca.
.The full time officers worked 46 hours overtime during the month.and
the part -time officers worked 143 hours.
