refund of tax penalty
Dear Ms. Mangione,
I received a tax reminder for my bill dated July 14 and was surprised as I thought I had paid it using my web banking
system. I have lived at 523 Highland Rd since 1997 and have always paid my tax bill on time.
To my dismay, when I checked by online bank account, it seems that the transaction had not completed and I had not
paid the bill.
i called Angela podufalski and explained the situation and requested a waiver of the penalty fee' she explained that it
was not likely , considering the late date but that I should pay the bill and I could request a waiver from the board at the
next board meeting. ltturns out lwill be out of town duringthe August meeting, so she suggested lcould write you an
email , explaining the situation and request that you make the request to the board on my behalf at the next meeting'
I understand the reason for the penalty, but as I explained, I have never paid my bill late, have never accrued a late
penalty in the i-7 years I have lived in my house. I have successfully used the web banking in the past, so I can't account
for why the transaction was not successfully completed , but l will in the future double-check to make sure the payment
is completed on time.
I would very much appreciate the board allowing me a one time waiver of the penalty on my tax bill ( amount 5187'03)'
Thank you very much for considering my request, and I sincerely hope the board will rule in my favor'
Thank you
