Re: Report of the Police Department for December 2011
During the month of December, there were 239 complaints reported to the police department. There were
also 4 motor vehicle accidents investigated. There were 58 traffic tickets issued and 10 parking tickets
written.
There were no felony complaints in the month of December_
There were 3 misdemeanors reported: i for larceny, 1 for counterfeit currency, and one for DW 1. The
larceny was a report from a village resident who had a vehicle parked in their driveway and found it had
been rifled through and items had been stolen sometime during the night.There are no suspects at this time.
The counterfeit currency report was called in by a taxi driver who had received counterfeit money as
payment for service. The person who passed the currency was not aware that it was counterfeit. The secret
service was advised and said there have been other reports of monies being exchanged with the same serial
number and that they had all originated out of Florida_`Ibis case has been handled appropriately and is now
closed. An officer was working DWI patrol one night and ended up stopping a vehicle for a traffic
infraction where the driver was found to be under the influence. The driver was arrested and has appeared
in court.
There were no violations reported in the month of December.
In the month of December,there were 4 deer accidents reported but no incidents involving a deer have been
reported.
In the month of December, Chief Boyce attended a drug laboratory awareness class held at TC3. Also, Sgt
Steinmetz and Lisa Withrow attended Spillman training held at the Department of Fmergency Response.
During the month of December,the full time officers worked a total of 54.5 hours of overtime and the part
time officers worked a total of 156.5 hours.
