HomeMy WebLinkAboutBOT 2-13-12 Appendix A.pdf Dear Trustees,
I went to sleep one evening thinking that trustees were
building sidewalks for school children and seniors,
supplying enough police for safety, building speed
bumps, building handicap access for Marcham Hall,
managing the TCAT issue, and putting stop lights at
dangerous village intersections.
I woke up the next morning to read that the Village
Trustees had become the "deer party". Focus on your
deer issues while delaying other needs of the village is
problematic. Use of taxpayer funds to advertise your
platform as a "deer party" is unfair.
Why would you send out several pages with inaccurate
information to frighten village residents regarding Lyme
disease and so called "aggressive deer"? "Deer ticks" by
the way, live on rodents.
It is common knowledge that you visit Kendal with such
fears —1 am not sure why we would make residents feel
unsafe — when there are no documented cases of deer
attacks on humans —or no published documented attacks
on pets.
We realize that it has been very difficult for you to
resolve divisive community situations. We are at an
impasse — "deer" matters are not easily resolved — as was
promised.
So perhaps we should attempt compromise — avoid
shooting, wounded deer running amok, and frightened
children and elderly.
Let me go on record as saying there are a host of issues
that are extremely important that need your attention.
Thank you so much for listening. — Mary Tabacchi, 705
