Heads From: Mary Mills, Clerk RE: October 2011 Report As a result of the office’s continual reminders to tax payers and collecting outstanding tax bills, this year’s amount to be relevied on the 2012 Town and County tax bill is $7,789.40; last year this amount was over $20,000. There is a resolution on the agenda for the Board’s approval for the November 14th meeting and a form signed by the Trustees to be given to the Tompkins County Budget and Finance office. There were one FOIL requests for the month of October. Michael Salm, Sherpa, has completed the server upgrade and now is working on fixing/ tweaking the system for everyone to be able to use it. After the install was completed, Michael experienced problems with the way Symantec products worked and didn’t work with the new system. The older software doesn’t connect well with the new hardware- the new server, thus, the reason for the quote and letter of explanation from Michael and the quote is attached as a reminder. A signed purchase order will need to be signed if you approve this product. I have given copies of the Deferred Comp Plan new Roth 457 information to all employees for their review and have requested a response by December 1 st in order to implement the payroll deduction to happen in the January payroll . Joan and I visited with Matthew Valaik, Tompkins County Trust and are looking into the efficiency of using electronic depositing. The bank will supply the scanner and provide the training needed to make deposits on line. This process will enhance accuracy and be a time saver. /mem
