Re: Report of the Police Department for April 2011
During the month of April,there were 252 complaints reported to the police department.There were also 5
motor vehicle accidents investigated. There were 70 traffic tickets issued and 9 parking tickets written.
There were no felony complaints reported for the month of April.
There were 5 misdemeanors reported,2 for petit larceny, I for criminal mischief, 1 for harassment, and I
for fraud. One larceny was a report of some yard ornaments stolen from Kendal. There are no suspects at
this time. The other larceny was reported from a Kendal resident who believes she had some items stolen
from her home. The officer assigned is investigating the case. The criminal mischief was reported by a
village resident who had found a hole in the front window of their residence.The resident was not sure how
this happened, and there are no suspects at this time. Regarding the fraud report, a resident came into the
police department stating his wife was being scammed over the phone. The officer did investigate and
advised the suspect not to call this resident or any other village residents again and that we were aware of
this scam.As of this time,the resident has not reported any other issues with the suspect.
There were 7 violations reported in the month of April: 5 for disorderly conduct, I for a dispute, and 1 for
trespassing. All of the disorderly conduct reports were noise violations and were each handled
appropriately with no further issues. The dispute was a P party report of an individual having to be
removed from a party. By the time the officer arrived on scene, the subject had left and the problem was
taken care of. The trespassing incident was found while an officer was on patrol. He came across an
occupied vehicle parked at the school late at night.The occupants were told to leave the area,and they did
so with no problems.
In the month of April, Sat Steinmetz attended a patrol rifle school training. Officer Manning attended
Emergency Vehicle Operation Course Instructor School. Also, all full time officers attended the annual
Tazxr Training Certification.
During the month of April,the full time officers worked a total of 155.5 hours of overtime and the part time
officers worked a total of 170 hours.
