I fully support what my colleague and fellow garden lover Elizabeth Mount has said about fences' A
revision to oun outdated fencing ordinance is long over due and I hope you will all vote for the proposed
changes.
Fencing is not an alternative to deer remediation. lt is necessary whatever the outcome of your deer
reduction programs.
I would also like to addlress the Bus Route issue. I live close to the corner of Midway and Northway
roads, am a bus rider and familiar with both the old route and the new route. First there are only 6
busses that actually impact children walking to and from the School. Many of these children do not
even cross thr: bus route because they walk on the west side of the Parkway. Northway is a much safer
route for buses becausie it has two sidewalks. Northway is a better route than Upland Road for the bus
because there is a crossing guard where children cross the road. Busses also obey the speed limit which
cannot be said for all the cars using that route. The cars are a much greater hazard than the busses are
and there are far morel of them at drop-off and pick-up times.
