During the month of January, there were 240 complaints reported to the police department. There were also
8 motor vehicle accidents investigated.'fhere were 43 traffic tickets issued and 20 parking tickets written.
There were 2 felony complaints reported for the month of January: I for grand larceny and the other for
fraud. The grand larceny was a report from a college student who had tell for school break at the end of
December. Upon returning in mid-January, he came across some items that were missing from the
residence. There are no suspects but the case is ongoing. The fraud case was reported from a resident who
stated his credit card number had been stolen and used for numerous online purchases. There are no
suspects as of yet,but the case is still under investigation.
There were 3 misdemeanors reported: I for a bad check case, I for larceny, and I for criminal mischief.
The bad check case was reported from a local business. The business owner had tried to get in contact with
the suspect but had no luck. This is an ongoing case. The larceny was a report of some personal belongings
stolen out of a vehicle. There are no suspects but this case is ongoing as well. The criminal mischief was a
report of someone having the window of their vehicle broken out. There may be a suspect in this case, the
officer is continuing the investigation.
There were 6 violations reported in the month of January: 4 for disorderly conduct and 2 for harassment.
All 4 of the disorderly conduct violations were noise complaints. They were all handled appropriately by
the officer and there were no further issues with any of the complaints. One of the harassment complaints
was a report from a parent that someone had been harassing their child through the computer which in turn
led to harassment at school. The investigation is ongoing. the other harassment complaint was reported
from a male who stated his ex-girlfriend kept sending him harassing text messages and calling him. He did
not wish to pursue charges, but wanted the female to be told to stop. The officer rendered necessary advice
to the female end since this time,we have not had any reports of her harassing him any further.
In the month of January, all patrol officers attended the county wide Live Scenario Simulation Based
Training, Officer Chad Lansing also attended Instructor Development School which is the first part of
Firearms Instructor School.
During the month of January, the full time officers worked a total of 78 hours of overtime and the part time
officers worked a total of 195.5 hours.
