HomeMy WebLinkAboutDecember Mtg Engineer report.pdfMayor,
Since I will be on vacation next week and unable to attend the Trustee meeting, I am providing the
following update on the status of the project. Since the last Trustee meeting there as been a lot of activity
related to regulatory approvals.
On November 15th, I visited Elliot Rubinstein to go over the project with him. He gave his verbal approval
of the project.
On November 17th, the Planning Board conducted a preliminary Site Plan Review and scheduled a Public
Hearing for their regular meeting on 11/28/11.
On November 28th, the Planning Board conducted a Public Hearing. With no public objection, they
proceeded to approve the Site Plan for the project.
On December 5th, the Zoning Board of Appeals considered the project for a lot coverage variance. After
formal review process, the variance was granted.
I have also met with Larry Sharpsteen a couple of times since the last Trustee meeting to address
questions that he and other supplier/contractors have raised about construction details. Although h e has
only budgeted 24 hours for his estimating services, he has to work with the many material vendors and
various contractors who may not respond immediately. Although he has made good progress, he will not
have the final estimate in time for the December Trustee meeting. He has committed to having completed
in time for the January meeting.
In the meantime, the Mayor has contacted the NYS Court System and has the information about the
timing of expenditure of their funds and any time extension if needed.
At this time, there is no action required at the December meeting.
Sincerely,
Brent
