Subject:Deer Management
To the Mayor and Trustees of Cayuga Heights:
I hope I am not too late to register my opinion regarding the deer.
I understand that many people want something done to manage our deer population, but I don't sense from my
conversations with neighbors that we are in a desperate situation or that we are willing to support inhumane
methods, especially when there are other viable options. I find it hard to imagine that the 69% of people who
show up to the hearings to say that they want the deer controlled by any means possible represent the rest of us
who didn't or couldn't show up. They do not represent me or my family.
I hope your minds are not yet made up. I hope you are not ready to resort to unsafe or inhumane methods. And I
hope your final decision represents the compassionate nature of our community.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.
Sincerely,
Mary Schiavone
