DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS 123 Sheldon Rd. Ithaca,NY 14850 (607) 2s7-6166 Friday, Aprrl02,2010 To: The Honorable Mayor Supron Members of the Board of Trustees Village of Cayuga Heights Re: Monthly Report- March 2010 During the month of March we have been working hard on preparing the road areas where the water main rvas installed... Since the weather has allowed us to begin early this year we have taken advantage by repairing some of the soft areas throughout the road areas on the Parkway, Hanshaw, and Highgate Rd's... These were areas that was planned to revisit prior to paving, and we knew that some of these trouble areas would exist... We have also started the process ofaddressing underground repairs that need to be repaired before paving so that when we complete the paving tliat we shouldn?t have to damage the road surface to do any repairs... We have already begun ditching, cleaning of the storm sewer pipes, inspecting cross pipes and replacing any,in question, and addressing any private property concerns that may affect the final paving... so far all the residents have been understanding and have worked extremely well with the DPW... In addition to preparing to complete the capitol project we have also been doing some cold patching throughout the village and finishing some of the minor work needing to be completed... We have also started our yearly flushing of the sewer mains and have completed the entire upper half of the village... I am extremely happy to report that the weather has assisted us by allowing us to get an early start, but the crew has been working diligently, " probably due to boredom from plowing continuously throughout the winter"... We have aiso been taking more time to repairing our equipment in house rather than sending them out for repairs... Sincerely; Jeffrey Frisbie Asst Supervisor DPW
