There were 1 1 mot,or vehicle accidents investisated as well. There were 43 traffic tickets issued and l5 parking tickets written" 'lhere were no fclony cornplaints repofted in the month of February. The police departntent did assist the Ithaca City Police Department (SIU) with a felony drug investigation that occurred within the village of Cayuga Heights. Our officer assisted with apprehending a suspect involved in the case, as well as being present as backup for the situation. There were 2 rnisdemeanors repofted: one for petit larceny and one for aggravated harassment. The petit larcr:ny was a report of a bicycle stolen from the townhouses on Jessup Rd. The bicycle has not been recovered and there are no suspects. The aggravated harassment was repotled by an individual who states he has been receiving numerous emails from someone. The victim did not want to necessarily pursue charges, he just asked that the officer talk to the suspect and advise them to stop sending the emails. That siusFrect has been told to stop all communication with the victim, she agreed to do so. 'lhere were 4 violations reported for disorderly conduct, two of which were noise complaints. One cornplaint was of a village residence in an apaftment complex that could be heard yelling at a small child. 'l'he reporting pafty did not know if there was a child being hurt, therefore they contacted the police departrnent. The officer responded and found this was a verbal altercation and advised the subject to stop yelling at the child. The last complaint was regarding a village resident who had gone into a business and acted in a threatening rlanner towards ernployees. That subject was told not to go into that business again. There were a fotal of 5 village ordinance cornplaints received, all of which were dog control issues" Each issur: has been handled appropriately. During the month of February, there were a total of I l9 cornplaints handled within the police department. In the month of February, Officer I.anning spoke at Tlie First Congregational Chulclt to looal cub scouts about crime prevention and demonstrated fingerprinting. Officer l,ansing attended a two day school which will certi! him as a taser instruclor. Offlcer Manning attended a two day course about drug identification.
