TO: BOARD OF TRUSTEES
FROM: Ed Quick, Working Supervisor
PERIOD: MAY 2006
REPORT BY DEPARTMENT:
1. PUBLIC WORKS
a. Street System: We put top soil and seed down on Comstock Rd. where we
replaced the sewer line last Fall. We had Suit-Kote in to Slurry Seal
Berkshire, Cambridge & part of Iroquois Rd. It was a nice looking job.
We also put a skim coat of blacktop on old Remington Road which turned
out real nice. We did it with our paver and crew . Some of our crew
helped Suit-Kote grind up and pave the lower part of Hanshaw as part of
the 2005-06 budget.
b. Storm Water System: We put a new larger catch basin near 310
Triphammer Road. Also, we have been keeping the catch basins clear of
debris.
c. Water System: We replaced a fire hydrant at 414 Cayuga Heights Road
and we repaired a water valve at 220 Triphammer Road.
d. Sewer System: We had a major sewer plug up on the line in the woods
behind Spruce Lane. We had trouble getting to the manholes because they
run through the woods. We also flushed several other lines around the
Village. We had 41 UFPO’s to mark out.
e. Solid Waste: The brush pickup is very heavy at this time of year. It took
us 2 ½ days to pick it all up.
f. Equipment: DPW Fuel Consumption for the month: Gas = 102.10
Diesel = 852.10
g. Buildings and Grounds: No Report
h. Personnel: Dave Lanning is out on Workers Comp, and we are short two
MEO’s.
i. Safety: No report.
