20. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE:
The Goldsmith house is one of the original houses in the im—
mediate hamlet of Jacksonville. The 1B53 Atlas Map indicates
one Catherine Teeter acquired .tfie house for a sum of $350.
Teeter family descendents still own properties in the hamlet.
The 1866 Atlas Rap's attribution of house ownership to one
M. Wright was not confirmed by deed records, consequently
it's assumed that C.H. Howe, as owner of record, had leased
the residence to Wright.
