#11. Numerous alterations to the original integrity of this house include:
a.) a one story addition to the south side of the east wall, and a shed attached to the
south wall of the addition
b.) the addition of a glassed -in porch on the north side of the east wall.
c.) the addition of a porch on the north wall with the northeast portion enclosed.
d.) the replacement of numerous original windows and doors and the addition of a large
picture window on the south end of the west facade.
e.) a variety of exterior sheathing material including composition shingles, vertical
boards and clapboards.
#18. The main section of this house is two and one-half stories high with the roof ridge
parallel to the road and a pedimented cross gable on the west facade. Two other rectangular
sections, each approximately twelve feet wide, continue one after the other from the east
exterior walls.
Foundation types also vary from section to section, including, siltstone under the first,
poured concrete under the second and third, and concrete block beneath the rear -most
additions.
A wide frieze board on the main section suggests previous emphasis on Greek Revival
style decorative detail. The south facade of the main block retains a symmetrical
fenestration pattern that features six -over -six, double hung sash windows.
Large evergreens in the rear yard, over -grown gardens, a stone retaining wail, and an
abundance of shrubbery surrounding the house indicate that the grounds were previously
attended.
