The 20th—century acditions are a front porch and a rear wing
changing the shape of thE; house from a rectangle to an L—shaped

The house is surrounded by other 19th --century houses. It is
shown on the 1866 Atlas l�zap as owned by t=ivison. The (Biller
house displays the some Greek Revival influence of the other
houses nearby and was probably built between 1853 and 1866.

20. HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE.
Though the Tax Assessor's records c'ate the house LS circa 1870,
the structure is mentilonr d in the Tompkins County atlas Miiap of
1866, �.nd thus was probably built several -years prirur to that date.
This house was one of eight residences that in 1866 were on the
northwest sjiie of .SYS Route 96 End in the immediate hamlet of
Jacksonville.

Miller douse: 1666 Trumansburg Road, Jacksonville, New York
18. The Miller house is now sided with asbestos thus covering
many of the original details. The L --shaped clan supports two
gable roofs covered with asphalt shingles. The entablature
under the eaves aid the plain returns on the gable ends have
appLrently been sided over. Window moldings appeer to be
original. First floor windows are two -over -two Double --hung
sashes. The second floor w i nduws are one -over --one double --
hung sashes.
The front facade is r iv id& into f ur bays with the main
entr-nce offset. The front door is a, sinal: leaf glazed door
divided into twelve pines with wpod poneling on the bottom.
A one-story parch haR been aired Lo the front Facade. The
porch has a half gable roof covereK with Lsph It shingles,
and wool shingle siding: waist high surrounds the ;torch. The
porch ruuf is su; ported by woozen posts. The ons- st5ry addi-
