Creque was the first applicant for degrees in the Nasonic lodge. Aftar selling the property to Follett for $1500, Cneque moved to Trumansburg, and the born went from being a blacksmith shop to a carriage: builders shop, "nd eventually it became 6 resting place for the 20th -century's conveyance, the automobile. THEME: 3 " Knight douse: 1864 Trumnnsburg Road, Jacksonville, New York 6 11. There have been sevwrvl 19th -century additions to the original structure. One addition ccross the back of the house has a she; roof that originates from the main body; and one addition th2t runs perpendicular to the main body, elongates the plan from rectangular to L -shape. The hood over the main en- trance may be a later addition to the house. Judging from a photograph (early 20th--ccntury) this ornament was rattier popular. The iiur(i house and another property has similar ornaments. 18. The Knight House'o front clevation looks as though two com- plete houses have been pushed together to form one facode. The left section is one -,end half stories tall with a separate g..ble rcof covered with asphalt shingles. There are three frieze win- dows included in the wide entablature. The right fccade starts with an open , arch with square Boric posts topped with 0 wide entablature. The exterior wDil in the front porch is finished with f lushhoLrd, unlike the rest of he house which is covered with clopho&xd. The wit ht QcLde also hcs an extraordinary cntrence door. The door is o 5 ingl e leaf glazeu, door with a Boric e8rwed enframement. All of the winjows ore the same throughout the house. They all hcve c heavy molding surrounding six--aver-six icuble-hung ta sash. The original shutters have been =jut on the house again by the Knights.
