HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE: Lot—19-4-5 was first it unti find as Iiilit4ry Lot #15 (consisting of 600 acres) and frau given to IscDc Janialson. according -to the present owner and the Tax Assessor, the house was built circa 1825. Being one of the oldest Greek Revival houses in Jacksonville, it has served as an example for lat�:r Greek Revival structures erec— ted in the hamlet. The house appears on the 1853 Atlas Map (owned by Minire) and on Vie 1066 Atlas Hap (owned by Hall). Deed re— search, however, indicated that individuals named Sincla6i actual— ly owned the lan- and house before 1856. Nevertheless,the Halls are also mentioned in the 1856 deed of transaction to Alson and ;Martha Lashier. (History of Ownership attached) 21. THEME: i Roy House: 136 Agard road, Hacksonville, NY IS. One of he earliest examples of the Greek Revival period is located at 136 Agard Road in the hamlet of Jacksonville. The house was originally a rectangular plan »gilt approx- imately 1825, with a Greek Revival colonnaded verandah on the front. The house is sid6d with wooden clapao�rd Gond sets on :a stone foundation. The original body is three boys wide and runs per.pendicul_.r to Agard Road. The original entrance is lrceted on the laf t ._ i_e. The :.. i n .emtrpnce is a single leaf paneled wooden door aith side lid hts. Three medium pitched gable roofs cap the original structure and the two a dditicns. The xccfs are covered with Esphalt shingles.
