Thanks to an astute reader for noticing that I forgot to include the time for the Revolutionary War Soldier Settler Graveside Open House at Grove Cemetery.
That is happening TODAY, JULY 11 from 2-5pm with a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 3pm. The chapel will be open for a tour and refreshments. The cemetery is located at 8825 Falls Rd.

As part of a series of events to celebrate 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Grove Cemetery Association will host a Revolutionary War Soldier Settler Graveside Open House from 2-5pm in
the cemetery to honor some who fought for our nation's freedom. A reading of the Declaration will take place at 3pm at the chapel. Grove Cemetery is located at 8825 Falls Rd., Trumansburg.
.UIvsses Philomathic Library, is hosting an exhibit titled "JULY 1776: When the Declaration of Independence was News" through July 30.
JOB OPENING -TOWN OF ULYSSES RECREATION ACTIVITY SPECIALIST;
This position will primarily provide important, free and direct positive youth development programming to 5th - 8th graders after school and during the summer. Positive youth development focuses on providing an
inclusive, supportive environment for youth. Programmatic priorities and specific activities are developed in cooperation with youth, the Youth Commission, and Town Staff. Administrative assistance is provided to this
position, allowing the employee to primarily focus on direct service provision. During the school year, primary service hours are between 2:30 and 5:00pm, with flexibility in the total number of weekly hours. Summer
hours may expand. Experience working with and engaging youth is strongly preferred and additional training and support will be provided.
Pay:$23.69/hour

Learn about the history of journalism in Tompkins County with Cornell University Visiting Lecturer Corey Ryan Earle. A Tompkins County native, former board chair of the History Center, and one of Cornell's most
popular speakers, Earle will trace the history of the region's news industry, from the founding of the Seneca Republican in 1815 to the advent of online news. As local news organizations face an uncertain future, come
explore a time when newspapers were an integral part of Tompkins County's civic life.
Presented by the Tompkins Countv Public Information Advisor Board and the Tomnkins County Public Library, the talk is part of the county's commemoration ofthe nation's 250th anniversary.
The event is free and suitable for all ages.
COMMUNITY BEAUTIFICATION:
Takin' Care of T'burg will be holding its next work day on Saturday July 11 at gam. They will focus on weeding the berm along the sidewalk in front of the Trumansburg Conservatory of Fine Arts on Union St. Join in for
however long you'd like and bring garden tools if you have them.

Come hang out with us at the Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival of Music & Dance! TCFA will hold our usual information booth on the main fairway by the "Dance Tent". Make sure you get on our mailing list and come
check out our new season of events and new classes in our new, beautiful buildingl We're excited to share what's happened and what's next!
We will have several raffles going on throughout the weekend, including our annual Banjo raffle (Donated by Ithaca Guitar Works and signed by various artists throughout the festival weekend), and season tickets to
our 2026-2027 TCFA concert series!
We will also hold the following free activities:
"Elf Ear" Creating: Thursday 3-6pm, Friday & Saturday 12-3pm, Sunday 11-2pm
Free Face Painting: Thursday 3:30-5:30pm, Sunday 11-1pm
Limbo Contest: Sunday 1-2pm
