SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING
Town of Ulysses
Dec. 30, 2025
The meeting was held in person at the Town Hall at 10 Elm St., Trumansburg NY as well as via Zoom
videoconference. Notice of Town Board meetings are posted on the Town’s website and Clerk’s board.

CALL TO ORDER:
Ms. Olson called the meeting to order at 9:33am.

DISCUSSION OF AUTHORIZATION FOR BOARD MEMBERS TO SEEK INDEPENDENT COUNSEL:
Ms. Olson read the whereases of the resolution below and the group discussed.
EXECUTIVE SESSION:
Mr. Goldman moved to go into Executive Session at 9:38am for the purpose of discussing current
litigation. This was seconded by Ms. Bouchard and passed unanimously.
Ms. Bouchard moved to end Executive Session at 10am. This was seconded by Ms. Weatherby and
passed unanimously.
AUTHORIZATION FOR BOARD MEMBERS TO SEEK INDEPENDENT COUNSEL
RESOLUTION #170 OF 2025: AUTHORIZATION FOR BOARD MEMBERS TO SEEK INDEPENDENT
COUNSEL
WHEREAS, the Town of Ulysses and certain of its Town Board members in both their official
and individual capacities have been sued for defamation; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Ulysses has already prevailed in a related action; and
WHEREAS, service of the suit on the individual Town Board members has not yet been
completed, but in anticipation of the same occurring soon, the individual Town Board
members have requested that the Town of Ulysses provide them defense and indemnification
in this action pursuant to Town Code Chapter 14;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

RESOLVED, that the Ulysses Town Board approves and authorizes Mary Bouchard, Rich
Goldman, Katelin Olson, and Elizabeth Weatherby to seek independent legal counsel of their
choice concerning the referenced action, subject to compliance with the terms and conditions
set forth in Chapter 14 of the Town Code, to be paid for by the Town of Ulysses; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town of Ulysses will cover any litigation costs not covered by
the insurance company through the duration of the lawsuit and any future appeals.
