Town offices will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday,Dec.24-25.Some offices will be closed for additional hours so please check before coming in.

NEW STAFF MEMBER!:
The Town is pleased to welcome Lori Asperschlager as the Administrative Assistant for Building,Code,Planning,Zoning,and the Department of Public Works.Lori joins the Town team after 25 years at Cornell University
in the College of Human Ecology and the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.She is native to the Town of Hector and continues to live there with her husband,two daughters and several pets.She enjoys a self-
imposed yearly photo project,reading books,and spending time with her family.

LETTERS TO SANTA:
Letters to Santa can be dropped off through Dec.21 in the mailbox at the Trumansburg Firehouse at74 W.Main St.,Trumansburg and should include the name,age,phone number and address of the sender.
The Letters to Santa program was started by the Trumansburg Fire Company in September 2011 and is funded entirely by community donations.For more information,contact any member ofthe Trumansburg Fire
Company,or call Patty Dodge(Assistant Treasurer and Letters to Santa Organizer)at 607-387-7501.
Donations can be sent to:Trumansburg Fire Company 74 W.Main St.,Trumansburg,NY 14886.Please indicate"Letters to Santa"on checks.

TAXES ARE COMING:
2026 Town&County tax bills are almost ready for print.When ready,you will receive the special,once-a-year newsletter dedicated solely to information about your taxes.They will likely be posted online before you
receive a bill in the mail.As a reminder,they are due without a penalty by February 2,2026(since January 31 falls on a Saturday).
RECORD-BREAKING NEED AT TRUMANSBURG FOOD PANTRY:
The Trumansburg Food Pantry continues to have record-breaking numbers-seeing a 500Xincrease in visitors at its Dec.15 pantry.Help is needed to continue to meet demand and make sure our neighbors are.fed.If you

GOVERNOR HOCHUL REACHES AGREEMENT WITH STATE LEGISLATURE TO PASS MEDICAL AID IN DYING ACT IN NEW YORK:
Governor Hochul announced an agreement with the Legislature to make medical aid in dying available to terminally ill New Yorkers with less than six months to live.This comes after careful reflection and deliberation
with the bill's sponsors,advocacy organizations,and most importantly,everyday New Yorkers who shared personal experiences with the Governor.The bill,with the agreed-upon amendments,will be passed and signed
in January,and the law will go into effect six months later.
