UPDATE FROM SUPERVISOR:
Greetings,Ulyssians!
We certainly entered winter in a hurryl Brrrrl I'm sending warm wishes to everyone.In my own family,I've encouraged my children to enjoy the unique opportunities that cold weather brings,whether it's an excuse to
cuddle up under an extra blanket,play in the snow,ski,ice skate;or feed the birds.(Ideally without feeding.the neighborhood cats simultaneously!)
One of the special things unique to the season is the return of Winterfest,which the Town sponsors.Thank you to the organizers of the event,as well as all off the organizations and groups hosting tables tomorrow.
More information and thefull schedule is available here.Three cheers for free entertainment,a chance to stroll the streets without cars,and a chance to greet friends and neighbors.
The holiday season can be hard for many families missing loved ones or otherwise struggling.I extend my thoughts to anyone who may be finding this season challenging.If you are having issues with food insecurity,
transportation,gifts for children,or your utility bills(or a wide array of other needs),calling 211 will connect you directly with support through Tompkins County and other support organizations.If you are in need of
immediate food support and are a SNAP recipient,Town Hall is serving as a distribution point and is typically open most days 8-3.If you need different hours,please don't hesitate to reach out to me at 607-387-5767,

In Town Board news,we will have our final regular meeting of the year on Tuesday,December 9 at 7pm.The full board packet is available here.
TOMPKINS COUNTY HOSTS WINTER SKYWARN WEATHER SPOTTER TRAINING:
When:Thursday,December 11th from 6:30pm—8:00pm
Where:72 Brown Road,Ithaca,NY(Airport Administration/CFR building)
Objective:To train storm spotters about winter storms and what to report to the National Weather Service(NWS)and Emergency Management relating to snow,ice,rain,and flooding.
Topics Include:Types of winter weather hazards/storms likely in our region,information the National Weather Service uses to issue warnings,how to help your community and the NWS track significant impactful
weather,and how to prepare and stay safe during extreme winter weather.
Who Should Attend:Individuals who are interested in becoming SKYWARN weather spotters,feeding valuable information to the National Weather Service.SKYWARN spotters are independent of any government agency
and are not by definition"Storm Chasers."The class is free and open to everyone.No previous training is required.Space is limited to 30 participants.

RECREATION PARTNERSHIP:
The Recreation Partnership(RP)began in 1995 and is an alliance often municipalities plus Tompkins County to provide recreation programs foryouth and adults through the Ithaca Youth Bureau.The Town of Ulysses is a
member so residents are entitled to a discount.

FOOD PANTRY UPDATES:
The Ice Cream Bar is hosting a fundraiser for the Trumansburg Food Pantry today,Friday,Dec 5,at the Ice Cream Bar at 207 E.Main St,Trumansburg.
A portion of all sales of Christmas trees and Doug's.Fish Fry will be donated to the Trumansburg Food Pantry to help stock the shelves for winter.
Record demand continues at the Pantry and donations are appreciated.

ULYSSES HISTORICAL SOCIETY CELEBRATES TRUMANSBURG'S W INTERFEST:
Trumansburg Winterfest is scheduled for Saturday,December 6.
The Ulysses Historical Society invites you to join them from 1-4pm for:
• Traditional Russian Tea,Homemade Treats,Hot Cocoa
• Trumansburg's Harmony Falls Choral Group(1:30-2:30pm)
• View current exhibits and have your photo taken in a sleigh hitched to Silver Dan
• See the beautiful trees decorated by different organizations and individuals
• Antique pump organ will be played beginning at 2:30 pm
