Thank you to the many folks who came out to the open house on Wednesday for the Comprehensive Plan draft,hosted by our dedicated volunteers on the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee.There's plenty of
time to get more comments in.CPSC unanimously voted at the last meeting to extend their review process through the end of March 2026,with the goal of then turning it over to the Town Board for further review and
public consideration.To be connected to all of the information,please check out the website.
Since this is the last newsletter before Thanksgiving,I want to extend my warmest thanks and appreciation to all of our residents,but especially those who take the time to read the newsletter.Thank you for being
engaged in Ulysses!

SHARE THE WOODS:HUNTERS AND HIKERS ON PUBLIC LANDS

With both fall hiking and hunting seasons well underway,we encourage outdoor enthusiasts to follow safety precautions while recreating this fall and winter.Whetheryou are a hiker,nature photographer,leaf peeper,
mountain biker,hunter,or trapper,following a few simple safety measures can make your experience as safe as possible this season.
Tips for both hikers and hunters afield this fall:
• Tell someone where you're going and when you're planning to return.If your plans change,notify them.
• Dress for the weather,account for both location and elevation changes.
• Become familiar with the trail you plan on hiking or the area you plan on hunting.
• Wear bright clothing;blaze orange or blaze pink.Bright colors allow others to see you more easily and from farther away.
• Make sure you pack your bag with the 10 Hi ing Essentials especially a light source,map,and first aid kit.
Hikers should be aware that they may meet hunters bearing firearms or archery equipment while hiking on trails.Hunters are fellow outdoor recreationists,and hunting occurs on most DEC lands.Though hunters use
firearms and bows,hunting is exceptionally safe.
Share the Woods video
If you decide to adventure with your pet,make sure to keep them on a leash to avoid problems with other recreationalists and wild animals.Also,to make pets more identifiable in the woods,give them a brightly
colored collar,leash,or other covering.
Find a place near you by visiting the DEC website,checking out the DECinfo Locator or downloading the HuntFishNY ARR.Many trails are also accessible to people with disabilities.
FOOD PANTRY UPDATES:
The Nov.17 Thanksgiving Food Pantry was the biggest ever with 146 households(a 51%increase),including 26 new families.
The next Food Pantry is Monday,Dec.1 and the increased demand is expected to continue.Financial assistance is needed to ensure no one is turned away.If you are able,you can donate in one of the following ways:
• Online at www.trumansburgfoodoantrv.com
• Checks payable to Trumansburg Food Pantry,mailed to P.O.Box 162,Trumansburg,NY 14886
The pantry extends their thanks to donors,partners,and volunteers.
DESIGNS FOR NEW TOWN PARK:
We had a great turnout for the 11/12/25 Open House to view survey results and draft design for the parcel on Cold Springs Road that was donated to the town for recreation.The town partnered with Cornell Design
Connect to help with a survey and plans.

ULYSSES HISTORICAL SOCIETY CELEBRATES TRUMANSBURG'S WINTERFEST:
Trumansburg Winterfest is scheduled for Saturday,December 6.
The Ulysses Historical Society invites you to join them from 1-4pm for:
• Traditional Russian Tea,Homemade Treats,Hot Cocoa
• Trumansburg's Harmony Falls Choral Group(1:30-2:30pm)
• View current exhibits and have your photo taken in a sleigh hitched to Silver Dan
• See the beautiful trees decorated by different organizations and individuals
• Antique pump organ will be played beginning at 2:30 pm
