"It was a dark and stormy night ... and morning ... and afternoon ... and evening...." I'm very pleased to share that after nearly four years of advocacy, cooperation and coordination with the Village of Trumansburg, the Town of Covert, and New York State Parks, the former Camp Barton is OPEN for passive use. Please check out the full press release here. It has been the thrill of my Town career to help shepherd this incredible property into permanent public ownership, and I extend my thanks to the Ulysses public that has been so supportive of protecting it. Ribbon cuttings and public information session details will be shared in the very near future. Additionally, I hope everyone is holding up under all of the rain and clouds we've experienced. If you're looking for somewhere dry to spend a few hours next Tuesday at 7pm, please attend our Town Board meeting. The Town Board will be reviewing a draft donation agreement on the Pritts' potential park donation, as well as discussing changes to the Development District 3 by the Ulysses Planning Board. As always, members of the public are welcome to attend in person or remotely, and the packet is available here. As always, please reach out if you have any questions about the Town. I can be always reached at supervisor(@townofulyssesny gov, and happy to meet in person, over the phone, and via email. I love chatting about all things Ulysses.
