APPLICATIONS FOR THE NY HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (HEAP) ARE NOW OPEN:
Learn more and apply for assistance here.
Eligible New Yorkers can get up to $1,000 to cover heating bills, $4,000 to repair a boiler, and $8,000 for
a boiler replacement.
SNOW SHOVELING/PLOWING NEEDED TO ASSIST OLDER ADULTS:
The Tompkins County Office for the Aging is seeking to add more helpers to its list of those willing to do
snow shoveling/plowing for older adults.
The biggest need is for those outside of the City of Ithaca and in rural areas. If you are interested in
assisting older adults by shoveling or plowing, on either a paid or volunteer basis, please call the
Tompkins County Office for the Aging at 607-274-5482. If your name was listed last year, and you would
like to be listed again, please notify them as well.
HUNTING SEASON UPDATES:
Regular firearms season opens tomorrow, Sat. 11/15 for deer & bear. For more information, please visit

TOMPKINS COUNTY BURN BAN DETAILS:

A State of Emergency is hereby declared in Tompkins County, effective 10:00 a.m. on Saturday,
November 2, 2024.
This State of Emergency has been declared due to the lack of significant rainfall, which has caused
extremely dry conditions, this poses a public safety hazard due to the potential of out.
of -control fires and/or wildfires.
The following activity is prohibited in accordance with New York State Department of Environmental
Conservation Open Burning laws:
• Burning refuse, trash and other solid waste
• Burning loose leaves or leaf piles
• Burning downed limbs and branches
• Burning of grass, brush or forest -covered land.
As the Chief executive of Tompkins County, I, Lisa Holmes, County Administrator, exercise the authority
give me under Article 2-13, Section 24 of the New York State Executive Law, to
preserve the public safety and herby render all required and available assistance vital to the security,
well-being and health of the citizens of Tompkins County.
I hereby direct all departments and agencies of Tompkins County to take whatever steps necessary to
protect life and property, public Infrastructure and provide such emergency
assistance deemed necessary.
This State of Emergency will remain in effect for thirty (30) days or until rescinded or renewed by a
subsequent order.

SEEKING SEALED BIDS FOR TOWN HALL PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS
Sealed Bids for the construction of the Town Hall Parking Lot Improvements will be received by the Town
of Ulysses, at the office of the Town of Ulysses Town Hall, until 1:OOPM local time on Wednesday,
December 4, 2024, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
The Project consists of pavement reconstruction, drainage improvements, lighting improvements, and
associated work at the Town of Ulysses Town Hall parking lot.
Contract Documents, including Advertisement for Bids, Information for Bidders, Labor and Employment,
Additional Instructions, Bid Documents, Agreement, General Conditions, General Requirements,
Specifications, and Contract Drawings and any Addenda, may be obtained from Barton & Loguidice,

FARMERS HARVEST MARKET:
The Trumansburg Farmers Market will hold a Harvest Market on Monday, Nov. 25 from 4-7pm at the

The Town of Ulysses' Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee is conducting a photography competition
as part of the Town's Comprehensive Plan update. Community members are encouraged to take photos
that best capture the community spirit of the Town during the current season.
Selected photos will be incorporated into the adopted Comp Plan with credits given to the
photographer. Please send an email with your photos in JPEG or TIFF format to:
