Ms. Olson said that the town looks for every opportunity to save money. If the town goes over the cap by 1% it amounts to $16,000; 2% = $32,000; etc. To increase wages to be in sync with other munis in the county will cost the town $33,000 not including benefits. She reiterated that Fire/EMS has increased 10% but the town wants to keep providing these services to residents. She clarified that passing this law is not an override, it just gives the ability to do so if needed. Ms. Bouchard noted that budget meetings are this week.
